After you have completed the installation of the Datafeed Management System you will want to try it out for the first time. Below are images of the system in operation which we will take you through step by step. A scaled down working version is available on the website for you to try. Contact us for access.

With the package you receive a script for the Receiving Website (the site where you would like the datafeed to be displayed) and a complimentary package of adjustable webpages and stylesheets. Plus you receive the software for the Management Website which controls all aspects of you datafeed operations, enabling you to update and operate thousands of websites from a centrally located control system.

When you first open your admin system you see the image below

Once you have logged in the menu on the right hand side expands to reveal new categories.

Below you can see a screenshot of the Get Feeds section. This section is for new and existing datafeeds to be created or updated at a click of a button. Incorporated into the facility is a category mapping system which you can adjust the fields for the feed. Normally when you have installed a datafeed you do not need to map the datafeed again but sometimes feeds alter their parameters so it makes sense to check them periodically.

Below is a Quick Merchant addition system, very similar to a datafeed converter. The Quick Merchant addition system maps a feed and assigns a merchant number to the feed. This can be edited later using the Get Merchant facility, which is more detailed. The Quick Merchant facility has been around in various formats for years and can cost the same as our entire script if purchased separately from other sources.

The Merchants or Get Merchant facility is a very detailed mapping screen for your datafeeds. You specify what website the feed is to appear on and insert your affiliate id and merchant/campaign id's, which are then stored permanently in the system for the feed you are linking to. You also insert the size of the thumbnail images you wish to display and ensure that the url for uploading the datafeed is correct. We recommend that all datafeeds are stored online on a server or that you upload regularly from the datafeed supplier. This is done automatically when you click the map datafeed and update buttons in the Get Feeds section.

You also have the facility to edit, add or delete entire networks or indie programs using our Networks system software.

The Websites facility is a quick two box system to add a website and the website url. This is for the Receiving Website that you select to receive datafeeds passed by your Datafeed Management System. There is no limit to how many websites you can store.

We've even gone a stage further and enabled you to amend the way a currency is displayed and there is the facility to add or remove currencies. We advise you check current currency tables to see how they are displayed worldwide. Some countries prefer a symbol. Others prefer the international currency code. Either way, you can adjust the currencies in any way you see fit.

It can be very frustrating when a merchant or network supplies an incorrect category in their category mapping. With our system you can use the Categories section to change the way in which a category of a datafeed is displayed. Simply use the drop down box to select your merchant and click submit.

You will then be given a list of the categories with the category number displayed and the category name displayed. Simply edit the display name to your specification. This is ideal not only for incorrectly named categories but also the number of categories using the same category name; for example "Accessories". This you can amend to different types of "Accessories" if the datafeed has more than one category with the same name.

All Receiving Websites MAY be on the same server as the Management Website. Backdoor Investments Ltd is set to release a custom designed system which permits cross server operations and operates in modular format enabling csv, rss, xml and flash operations. The newer version is more expensive. At present it is only available at written request..
